One of the largest areas of business blog marketing is in real estate. This includes Realtors, mortgage loan brokers, home inspectors and appraisers. Blog marketing is a powerful tool because about 80% of potential real estate clients use the Internet to conduct research.

How to reach your targeted audience? You need to regularly write content that is interesting to your targeted customer. If you market to a very specific area, community or town, then this is what you need to write about. This is what your targeted customer is interested in.

People read to find local information. Real estate blogs that are written around self promotion tend to turn off readers and have a high bounce rate. Real estate blogs that are great resources write about local events, activities, history, statistics, schools, shopping and jobs. They develop a following of loyal readers. Writing about the local areas brings in search engine traffic for people doing local searches.

Successful real estate blogs start with a plan. They identify the primary objective of what the blog needs to accomplish. This can include things such as branding, search engine optimization or lead generation. Sure you can have secondary objectives, but pick one that is most important.

Next identify your targeted audience in terms of location and demographics. What do you know about them? What are they interested in? What kinds of things do they want to read about?

Develop your content plan. What topics should you be writing about? If your focus is on the relocation market segment, they are most interested in community information. Local sellers will want to know about valuation and how to prepare their property for sale.

By presenting useful and interesting materials, you become a useful resource to your prospective client. Write really good stuff and they will bookmark your blog or subscribe to your feed and be waiting to hear what you have to say.
