What is SEO Web Design?

SEO Web Design is a web development methodology that plans where the website traffic will come from for the website before the graphic designer starts on the design concept. A great looking design without any visitor traffic is much like a billboard on the moon. It may be the coolest design, but if no one sees it, it does you no good.

We get much better SEO results by designing these traffic building techniques in at the earliest stages of planning. At Doug Williams and Associates, we have developed our own process for web development that starts with planning business goals and objectives for your website. The real key to getting a great volume of targeted website traffic is to clarify your Internet marketing Plan. Here are some of what we look at.

What are you selling?
What products or services are you going to carry? How are they positioned for price and quality. High quality – High Price will need a very different image than mid quality – Bargain price. The key is to be focused.

Who are your competitors?
Understand your top competitors for what you are selling. How are they priced, what are they following for a sales process. What are their policies, selection, rankings? How are they perceived by their customers? Pick out the best of what they do and learn from them.

Who are your customers?
This includes demographics such as: age, sex, income, what they read, and the types of websites they like to visit. Very specifically, who makes the buying decision and what causes them to make the buying decision. How should you convince them?

Use this information to create a web traffic and keyword plan by page. Create a navigation flow to guide visitors into taking the action you want.

Developing a solid plan greatly improves results and the payback on the website.
